Capacity Building

In 2014, CLIP provided capacity building trainings to over 100 religious ulema and traditional leaders in Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa and Bamyan provinces in support of the electoral process. An inclusive manual with the focus on the conformity of Islam and democracy was developed and was later trained to participants via 100 Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions. Also, under Tawanmandi, CLIP in addition to building the capacity of religious and traditional leaders on the constitution and statutory laws of Afghanistan, also hired and trained 10 legal experts to provide on-the-job training to informal decision-making processes. Similarly, in 2016 and 2018, CLIP build the capacity of civilian police in ten provinces by providing both capacity building and on-the-job training assistance in the areas of management, public-speaking, conflict resolution, public safety and public-police partnership events.
